Over the years, I'd heard this film - written and directed by Phillipe Mora and starring everyone from Barry Otto to Frank Thring and Barry Humphries - was bad, but my god, it staggers belief as to just how truly, unremittingly appalling it really is.
It goes beyond the 'so bad it's good' category, and sinks into the quagmire of the truly painful.
I gave up watching it after half an hour - has anyone actually watched this disasterous attempt at a horror movie from start to finish?

Have you ever watched Thirst?
Thankfully, no - after making the mistake of reading the book circa 1985, that was one Australian 'horror' film I stayed well clear of!
Did you?
I watched it with some friends years ago. We were all very very drunk, and went completely MST3K on it's arse. Trying to watch it sober and by yourself would be almost impossible.
Damn, I was planning on going "Down Under" this evening, and now you're telling me it isn't safe.
Bugger me!
how does it rate compared to houseboat horror??
maybe howling I and II were better?
I remember some marsupial baby person/animal?? And a lot of cringing? I love it that the twist for the third instalment was 'Down under'...
I think I own The Howling III on DVD! I got it with a magazine. But, no, I never actually sat down to watch it.
